Xobito keeps you informed of new messages, campaign events, and team activity through three layers of notifications: in-app, browser push, and sound.
Notification settings are per-user. Each staff member controls their own preferences — admins cannot silence someone else’s laptop.

Opening notification settings

Click your avatar in the top-right → My Profile → Notifications. Alternatively, click the bell icon in the header to see recent notifications and access quick settings.

Kinds of notifications

In-app

A red dot on the bell icon and an entry in the notification panel.

Browser push

A toast on your desktop even when the Xobito tab is not focused.

Sound

An audio chime whenever a new event arrives.

In-app notifications

The bell icon in the top bar shows a red dot whenever there are unread notifications. Click the bell to see the list.
1

Click the bell

The notification panel slides in from the right.
2

Click any notification

You jump directly to the related chat, campaign, or ticket.
3

Mark as read

Click Mark all as read at the top to clear the red dot.

Browser push notifications

Browser push allows Xobito to pop up a toast on your desktop even if the tab is in the background.

Enabling browser push

1

Click 'Enable notifications'

Found on your profile page or as a banner at the top of the dashboard.
2

Allow in your browser

Your browser asks permission. Click Allow.
3

Test

Ask a teammate to send a test message. A toast should appear.
If you click Block by mistake, the only way to re-enable is through your browser’s site settings. In Chrome: click the padlock next to the URL → Site settings → Notifications → Allow.

Per-browser rules

  • Chrome / Edge: Works on all platforms when the browser is running.
  • Firefox: Same as Chrome.
  • Safari (macOS 13+): Requires you to “install” the Xobito web app first — click the share icon → Add to Dock.
  • Mobile browsers: Use the mobile app for reliable push.

Notification sounds

Xobito plays a short chime for new messages and important events. You can change the sound or mute it.

Changing the sound

1

Open notification settings

Profile → Notifications → Sound.
2

Pick a sound

Preview each option by clicking the play icon next to it. Built-in sounds include:
  • Chime (default)
  • Ping
  • Pop
  • Bell
  • Subtle
3

Save

Click Save preferences.

Mute everything (do not disturb)

Toggle Do Not Disturb at the top of the notification panel. This silences all sounds and browser push for the chosen duration (30 min, 1 hour, until tomorrow, or indefinite).
Use Do Not Disturb during meetings — in-app red dots still appear so you can catch up, but your laptop stays quiet.

Why am I not hearing sounds?

Right-click the Xobito tab → ensure Mute Site is unchecked.
Check the volume slider. Try a different audio output.
Click inside the Xobito tab once — browsers often require a recent click before playing audio.
Re-open Profile → Notifications → Sound and pick any option.

Email notifications

Some events also trigger an email:
  • You are invited to a workspace
  • A staff member creates an account under your workspace
  • A campaign finishes
  • Your WABA is disconnected (admins only)
  • Your subscription renewal succeeds / fails
You can’t turn off transactional emails, but you can adjust which campaign events send an email in Settings → Email Templates.

Mobile app notifications

If you’ve installed the Xobito mobile app, notifications follow your phone’s standard notification permissions.
  • iOS: Settings → Notifications → Xobito → Allow.
  • Android: Settings → Apps → Xobito → Notifications → On.
Per-user notification toggles in the web app also apply to mobile push.
